Who owns cafepress

News of the acquisition broke in September , long after numerous technology problems had begun hurting the Louisville company, which sold T-shirts, gifts and personalized items online. It was one of the largest ecommerce retailers in the Louisville region. The sale comes after many years of ups and downs for CafePress. Durham started the company in a California garage in with partner Maheesh Jain, who left the company in In , amid declining sales and lower earnings, CafePress sold its stationery business, InvitationBox.

The company also discontinued its lowest-performing products in nearly every category while raising online prices. Durham announced a multiyear turnaround strategy in May after the company hit more rough patches. In March , Durham said the company was on the right track in that effort. It also closed its Hayward, Calif. In July , Durham said that a change in Google's search algorithm, increased shipping costs and costs to modernize the CafePress website all knocked the company off its course.

More strife hit in the second half of last year, the "major punchline" of which was still the change in Google's SEO algorithm, Durham said at the time. I had a bad experience with some masks I ordered which were very small and didn't cover my nose and mouth. There is no way to leave a product review on the cafepress website to warn other potential buyers. And their customer service is terrible. I closed my account.

Surprisingly in my case, everything went well. Delivery was on time, item was well paclaged, item was of great quality. Thank you Cafepress. My 85 yr old Dad loved the cap I got him.

I believe the company did a great job on growth and promoting the "little guy" and November they changed policies, changed production, changed items and product quality and reduced shop owners commissions on their way to becoming greedy.

They made the company a public traded entity on the stock market and was out for themselves. They got rich, the stocks fell, the products became of poor quality, and August of the president, CEO bailed out and left. To regroup they have tried to add companies like Marvel Comics, Snoopy and other big names to keep the losses from poring in, instead of supervising quality and buying a better quality product. If you want to see their spread sheet of losses, and their news headlines since please feel free.

I as well have only ordered t-shirts, but to be honest I was less than satisfied. I believe my credit card information was compromised and charged without my consent. I had to jump through hoops to get the money back and eventually changed my credit card information so that they would never bill me without consent again.

Needless to say I do not plan on using Cafe Press ever again. The material is thin and cheap, and the images are distorted to a blur. I tried with 3 redo's on a shower curtain and they never got it right. The hole for the hooks are just that No support to prevent from ripping. This was a 2 month process and the shower curtain wound up as a freeze protector for my plants last winer :. Hello, Alice!

Here's what CafePress has done just in the last few months:.

Despite the one silver lining in August, where CafePress reported growth in its retail partner channels, it's been a dismal year for the company, especially at a time where nominal competitors like Vistaprint and TeeSpring are doing noticeably better. One of CafePress' biggest problems was updates to Google's search algorithm, which pushed the company out of the top search results for many important product categories.

The acquisition has CafePress hopeful that it will "have access to additional manufacturing, marketing and merchandising capabilities" it was unable to find on its own, while providing Snapfish with "a massive array of designs" and "major entertainment properties. We take great pride in being the pioneer of offering personalized and custom merchandise to consumers and believe this transaction provides an opportunity to further our leading position as well as return value to our stockholders.
